How can RECs help your company build a credible renewable energy strategy? Our two speakers from Center for Resource Solutions answer this question. First, Jennifer Martin provides an overview of how RECs work and highlights the Green-e certification program. Then, Jennifer Giles discusses options for purchasing RECs and the associated claims that businesses can make to convey their renewable energy use to their stakeholders.

Background
Center for Resource Solutions is a national nonprofit that creates market solutions and policies that advance sustainable energy. Through the Green-e program, CRS implements standards on the voluntary renewable energy market that protect companies and consumers.

Jennifer Martin has worked for nearly two decades with private, non-profit, and governmental stakeholders in the development of renewable energy markets and technologies. She has a Master of Public Policy from Duke University and an undergraduate degree from Pomona College.

Jennifer Giles has worked in the non-profit and private sectors performing carbon benchmarking and developing business strategies to utilize renewable energy. She has a MS in Environmental Policy, Planning and Assessment from The London School of Economics and an undergraduate degree from American University in Washington D.C.
