Software Platform
Climate Earth customers benefit from two best-in-class software systems in one platform. The first is a web analytics portal, your tool for interacting with dashboards, charts, reports and supporting information that makes up your environmental intelligence. It's also easy to export to common formats like spreadsheets and PDFs. The second is a footprinting system operated by our experts. It is purpose-built for enterprise and supply chain analysis (scopes 1, 2 and 3 emissions) and facilitates large-scale data management, impact calculations and financial integration. No organization is too large. We routinely assess billions of dollars of spend and hundreds of thousands of individual procurement line items.

Methodology & Data
Climate Earth uses a methodology called Financial Hybrid Life Cycle Assessment (LCA). Hybrid LCA is important for sustainable management because it utilizes your financial system of record and is scientifically recognized as the most effective way to assess an entity's comprehensive footprint. All cradle-to-gate impacts are estimated first for proper prioritization. Where appropriate, results are iteratively refined to the degree necessary for effective decision making. Footprints are also re-calculated with periodic financial updates for tracking performance by impact and dollars.

Hybrid LCA leverages the best characteristics of the data sources it combines. It has the specificity of your organization's financial data, the completeness of industry-wide economic and environmental data, and the focused detail of supplier and Process LCA data:

Financial management data provides a comprehensive view of money, goods and services flowing through your organization. The financial system is the most complete, reliable source of an entity's activities, relationships and structure.
Our Economic input-output (EIO) database provides a comprehensive view of money, goods and services flowing throughout the economy and over 2500 environmental flows associated with them, including carbon, water, toxics, waste and energy.
Supplier data enables deeper dives into your footprint, and Process LCA data from existing databases is used for quality checks (ex: US LCI, Ecoinvent, Bees, Athena).

We continually expand and refine Climate Earth's library of environmental databases, including the most complete EIO database available, The Comprehensive Environmental Data Archive for Economic and Environmental Systems Analysis. We call it CEDA. CEDA is the only internationally peer-reviewed database of its kind. It contains over 2500 environmental flows associated with goods and services moving through the economy, and allows us to calculate footprints from materials extraction through product distribution. CEDA has been widely used for various policy analyses including the Environmental Impact of Products (EIPRO) study of the European Commission.
